The History of Silver Shield

Silver Shield is the brand name of a specific silver product that I have used for years.  I have never had any problems using this product.  I continue to be amazed at the healing properties of it.  

I'd like to start by giving you a little of the history and ancestry of both silver sol products and Silver Shield.

Silver has been used as a preservative and as a medicine for thousands of years.

The famous Greek physician, Hippocrates, noted that it had special healing properties and that it could actually prevent disease.

Ancient Greeks, as well as the American pioneers used silver vessels and silver coins to keep their water safe.  They found it helped to prevent dysentery, influenza and other diseases. 

Wealthy families in Europe gave their children silver spoons to suck on to protect them from the Plague; hence the saying, "born with a silver spoon in his mouth."

The first "medicinal" silver compounds were developed in the late 1800s and the first patent on a "colloidal" silver was in 1924. By 1940 there were 48 different silver compounds in use for a variety of ailments.

Today, silver is making a come back because of it's effectiveness against the antibiotic-resistant "superbugs". The AMA estimates that MRSA (methicillin resistant staph aureus) infections kill more people than AIDS. Fortunately, this natual cure has been very effective in treating MRSA and many other types of infections. 

The Facts on Silver Shield

This product is different than the silver Grandma used. 

• Since we're not scientists, we aren't going to get very technical here, but the older silver solutions were either colloidal silver or ionic silver solutions.

My Personal Experience

I attended a lecture when this product first came out.  One of the co-founders, Gorden Pederson, Ph.D., was speaking.  He started the lecture by opening and drinking an entire 4 ounce bottle of Silver Shield. 

He said that he starts all his lectures that way.  He felt that this demonstration helped to answer the common questions most often asked.

Many people believe that ingesting too much silver will turn you blue.  Quite frankly that's true with some of the other "silver" products on the market.  If this were true with Silver Shield, he would definitely be blue given the amount he consumes just at lectures.

Since this product kills bacteria, viruses, fungus, molds and some parasites, many are concerned that it will also kill the "good" bacteria in the body as antibiotics do.  

Again, Dr. Pedersen assured us if that were the case, he would not be able to complete his lecture without running to the bathroom.  

I haven't taken antibiotics or any prescriptions for any illness in close to a decade.  I prefer to use natures's pharmacy of herbs and natural products.  I am very thankful to have found Silver Shield to add to my "natural" medicine cabinet.

I use the gel form as my "antibacterial" hand protection rather than those nasty gels you see on the counters all around town.  It has been my go to product for any type of cut, scrape, bite or burn.
